The History of ‘The Owl and the Pussycat’
Over many years, Dave Pope has traveled extensively to some of the poorest areas in the world. It was on one of his early trips, seeing the lack of resources for children that and idea started to develop. Knowing how many education toys, and resources, sit in cupboards and attics at home in the UK, ‘The Owl and the Pussycat’ project was started to encourage people to send in new, and nearly new toys to be re-distributed to some of the needy areas of the world. Since the project started in 2003, materials have been shipped to village schools, education establishments and centers for disabled children in Africa, India, Egypt and Bulgaria.
The project has been developing over the last few years, and you can find out more details on the ‘Our World’ page. |
